- EVENT NAME: Children’s Mental Health Grand Rounds Series-Assisting Parents and Families of Children and Adolescents in Understanding of Appropriate Pharmacological Intervention with Don Spivak, MD. 

- DATE: Thursday, July 16, 2009
- TIME: 10:00AM - 12:00PM, to ensure free parking arrive by 9:00 AM

- LOCATION: 
      Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI  48126 (note new location)

-LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Participants will understand the importance of making parents partners through education, addressing anxieties, and allowing them to be active and necessary parts of the team.
• Participants will understand the importance of team communication in medication use and monitoring.
• Participants will know the basic questions to be addressed with any medication use.
  

- SUGGESTED PARTICIPANTS: Community Mental Health and Substance Use professionals, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, counselors, peer support specialists and direct care professionals serving families who are Wayne County residents.

- ADA Accommodations: If you have individual requirements or need special services to to participate in this training, please notify Laura at lsheldon@vceonline.org.  Please make arrangements at least two weeks prior to the training.

- CREDITS: Continuing Education Credits are currently pending for licensed social workers.
