- LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Participants will gain knowledge in the following:
- Managing one's own reactions to suicide
- Reconciling the different and potential conflict between a clinician's goal to prevent suicide and a client's goal to eliminate psychological pain through suicide
- Maintaining a collaborative, non-adversarial stance
- Developing a written treatment and services plan that addresses a client's immediate, acute, and continuing suicide ideation and risk for suicide
- Pre-Registration is REQUIRED for this training by Monday, February 8, 2010. Training Admission Fee is $35 per person. Payments must be received or postmarked by February 8, 2010. Payment options are Online Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard and AMEX only), Personal Check, Agency Check

Cancellation Refund Policy: Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 10 business days prior to the training to kpalmer@vceonline.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 10 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
- CREDITS: Currently 6.5 continuing education credits are available for Social Workers . This program has been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). The Suicide Prevention Resource Center is authorized to award 6.5 NBCC clock hours and 6.5 NASW CE contact hours.
The American Association of Suicidology (AAS) is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. AAS maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Participants may receive 6.5 hours of APA CE credit.
The Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative approved this training for 6.5 CE clock hours.
